Unsung: “Gravity is worth asking about.”:

Not only is it very hard to create interfaces that have limitations, but a bad decision is not just precedent – it’s code that can be copied and reused. Existing code always had tons of… well, gravity, even before LLMs.

Perfect analogy about how the existence of something in a UI usually results in more of that thing down the line. Code might be infinitely malleable, but it still takes effort to change. And as soon as you’ve paid it for adding just that one thing, adding thing two is significantly cheaper. This also applies to backend too.
